Great Lakes 2T1A-VR I-ESON "the Outatime Flyer" |
March 6th, - 2007
I'm quite satisfied with the result of this job.
I've always been doubtfull about passing the shoulder harness between the bulkhead and the seat's top tube.Infact, passing the shoulder harness just above the seat won't achieve the proper shoulder-to-harness angle (which should be between 0° and 30°). In case of impact, this would mean to risk a serious shoulder injury. So I have decided to cut a hole into the bulkhead and rivet aluminum angles all around to "drive" the belts inside the cutout with the right angle and avoiding touching the edges of the sheetmetal. The aluminum angle are thick and this allowed smoothing the edges very very well (over 0,7mm radius) and this will minimize the risk of ruining the belts' fabric. I have also sticked some "U" rubber channel all around for extra-protection.
