Endoscopic inspection of LOM M137A engine

On February 22nd, 2006 I have trailed the engine (hung on the engine stand I have built) to DAVID Officine Aeronautiche Company in Brescia.
DAVID is a well know company specialized in servicing aircraft engines, overhaul and maintenance.
Mr. Mario was waiting for my engine as a Doctor waits for his patient: the ensoscopic monitor showed which was the status of the cylinder walls.
Inspecting each cylinder, we encountered some thin corrosion which started unevenly inside the cylinders; this maybe depended upon the long stop period of the engine installed to the project in the USA, with the deck angle of 10-14° and some cylinders up and other down.

The Starter being removed from the engine

Endoscopic monitor is ready to show the "bad" news...

By the way, the engine must be opened and cylinder polished, plus some spare parts have to be installed for a Top Overhaul, such as gaskets, piston rings, etc.

Will be back within a couple of months to pick up the Overhauled engine.
