The Great Lakes "European Squadron" Founded in Farnborough, Uk.

The First Meeting of the European Great Lakes Owners Club.
Not a very good picture as we managed to all go out without a camera and had to make do with a phone camera. A great evening was had by all as we kicked of the first meeting of the European Great Lakes Owners Club in style at a curry house in Farnborough Hampshire - actually with Farnborough airfield close by where better?!.

As well as technical Great Lakes discussions trips were planned. While David suggested we did a two ship flight from the UK to Italy - visiting me. Tim suggested we think big stopping off in Italy en-route to Australia. Dave pointed out that would take about 45+ days and who had that much holiday!
Though this is an informal foundation, we hope also dutch Henk (building a Continental powered Great Lakes) and Robert Fray (owner of Kinner powered G-BUPV) will join our squadron soon!.

G-GLII project
my hands on the third GL: this makes me the European GL's expert!

The day after, David brought me to Tim's house where he's restoring the "Dreamcathcer", re-registerd in the UK as G-GLII, recently aquired from a Gentlemen in Arizona, Mr. Mark Wood.
This is the first factory built Great Lakes I see, so what's better than my digital camera to "steal" some secrets??
I know what does having somebody walking around the project into your shop means, so I can understand perfectly Tim and I must thank him for this; having somebody around is one of the most time-wasting situation in the construction process, and not as funny...; Well, Thankyou very much TIM!
When he came back to pick me up back to airport, David pointed out that as I have worked on three different Great lakes, I can be entitled as "the Great Lakes European EXPERT": FUNNY and... true!! :-p
